What is stored

What is not

No name, no email, no phone number, no contacts, no location, no advertising identifier. No ads and no tracking across apps or websites. The only analytics service is RevenueCat, for purchases and Apple Ads attribution, described below. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.

Apple Ads attribution (RevenueCat)

From version 1.8.1, on first launch the iPhone app asks Apple's AdServices framework once for an attribution token and sends it, with your anonymous device ID, to RevenueCat, a purchase analytics service. RevenueCat asks Apple whether an Apple Ads ad led to the install and, if so, which campaign and keyword. Our server also forwards Apple's purchase notifications (which pack was bought or refunded, with Apple's transaction identifier and the same device ID) to RevenueCat, so we can count purchases and revenue per ad campaign. The token contains no name, Apple ID, hardware identifier or advertising identifier, and RevenueCat receives none of your questions, rounds, nickname or friends. It is used only to measure our own ads, not to track you across other companies' apps or websites and not to show you ads. To have RevenueCat's records deleted, email us.

Your questions and AI replies

After you allow AI questions in the iPhone app, your typed questions or speech transcripts, the round's conversation and the secret person are sent to OpenRouter and its AI providers to generate the owl's replies. Please keep personal information out of questions. We store the conversation with your round so the owl remembers it. To suggest questions you could ask next, the questions and answers so far and any clues you have unlocked are also sent, without the secret person. The providers process the text to supply answers and suggestions; they do not receive your device ID, nickname, friends or payment information from us. See OpenRouter's privacy policy for its handling of requests and provider routing.

In the iPhone app, open Profile and choose Withdraw AI permission to stop further AI questions. You can still browse the Journey. Starting another round will ask for permission again.

Voice

The iPhone app asks for microphone and speech recognition permission during a round. Speech recognition uses Apple's APIs and runs on device when supported; Apple may process audio when the system needs server recognition. We do not send microphone audio to our server or the AI providers, and we do not store audio. Only the recognized question text is sent as described above. Tap the question field to stop voice and use typing, or revoke microphone and speech recognition access in iOS Settings.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing that would identify one.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and the device ID on your device goes with it. To have the server-side record removed as well, follow the steps on the Delete your data page.
